OUR TEAM

JAY BROWN, PE — Jay Brown’s extensive construction experience began in 1994 designing new plant facilities for Bellsouth in Memphis, Tennessee. From 1997 to 1999, Jay served as a project engineer for the Arbor Place Mall in suburban Atlanta and Bonita Lakes Mall in Meridian, Mississippi. In the years following he developed an impressive portfolio of projects ranging from $1M to $20M including schools, enclosed shopping malls, retail out-parcels, stand-alone department stores, and multi-use town centers throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida with EMJ Corporation. Jay’s depth of expertise includes estimating, design plan review, permitting, project management, budget preparation, site supervision and employee training. His relentless energy and unwavering commitment to excellence has earned Mr. Brown a reputation for delivering projects not only on time but within budget without sacrificing quality. Recently, he managed construction of the Winter Springs Town Center as well as The L.A. Fitness club in Florida. Jay is a licensed Professional Engineer and earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, where he held leadership roles in the Sigma Chi Fraternity and Student Government.

KEVIN GUFFEE— Mr. Guffee began his professional career in 1998 with Exxon Mobil in Houston, Texas developing oil and gas fields in South America and the Gulf of Mexico. Over the next five years Kevin worked with small teams of engineers and geologists exploring the economic and technical feasibility of large oil and gas projects from the Middle East to Russia. In 2004, Kevin deepened his understanding in business administration by earning an MBA from the University of Tennessee with a concentration in marketing. His participation in Habitat for Humanity piqued an interest in construction which led to a position as acquisition manager with a Tennessee based firm. In 2006 Mr. Guffee managed the renovation of Cabana Key condominiums in Casselberry, Florida and Avistele at Deerwood (apartment homes) in Jacksonville. Kevin graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. Mechanical Engineering.
